We enjoyed this campground immensely for what it was and what you pay.
This was the first time we took our pop-up camper out on an excursion and didn't want to go too far from home, but we wanted it to still feel like camping. It's a cute, peaceful place with very friendly and helpful staff that is family owned.
When we called to reserve a spot, Alesha suggested the perfect campsite for us since we have two small children and no bathroom in our camper. We were right beside the main bathhouse and small park. Perfect.
The pool is older, but you can tell it's been repainted and maintained more these last few years. It was always clean and goes from 3-5ft on one half and all the way to 10 ft on the other half, with a buoy in between. No lifeguard on duty, which is fine. They close the pool up if there are any signs of a storm in the area. There are some nice pool chairs for guests to use. There are two ladders for access into the pool. No stairs.
The newer bathhouses by the pool are especially nice and more private. All the restrooms we used were always clean and in working order.
We stayed Wed-Sunday and many families that come for the weekend only bring boats to stay on the lake. There is a trail that leads from the campground to the dock, which is convenient. Although we didn't use them, they do have kayak rentals available.
There is also a nice little pond with fishing for guests and a fountain they turn on the weekends to add to the ambiance. There is also a free pancake breakfast on Saturday mornings Memorial day through Labor day.
This is a nice low-key campground with basic amenities. We've been to campgrounds with more, but for the price, we will definitely be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer T.Belmont, NC162300441Oct 14, 2018
Great weekend getaway. Mix of permanent sites and people traveling for the weekend. It was a quiet campground. We brought our pups. Pet friendly.
Good sam club discount if you have it or militarily discounts.
Firewood for sale at the front. Every am they have free fresh brewed coffee. Close to 485, will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Valerie Z.Raleigh, NC104154201Dec 27, 2019
This place is AWESOME! From the first phone call I made, Alesha was pleasant and helpful. When I arrived, they assisted me on leveling my rv which I normally don't go crazy with because well... just because. They wanted it perfect and they helped until it was right!
This is a family owned and operated campground with not much in amenities ie: no pool but there are clean bathrooms and a washer/dryer to use. I don't want the other amenities. I wanted a peaceful, quiet out of the way place. I work shift work and need to be away from people. I got exactly what I needed.
The location is peaceful off the lake and staff is very responsive.
I had an issue with my RV and the father/som came out to help me within 10 min. I never asked they just came like two angels! I am impressed with the staff and the location. I cannot speak highly enough of this place!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle N.Sanford, NC0127Apr 3, 2021
Ok. Price is accurate for the what this is. Not well kept, roads are atrocious sites not cleaned and we had to clean out the fireplace before we could use it.
This could be a nicer place with some minor upkeep.
Probably wouldn't stay here againHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Donna C.Aberdeen, NC08950Oct 8, 2020Updated review
Went back - again we still love this place.
Staff are great
Nice campground- not a resort folks so don't expect it.
This time as per rules -dogs are suppose to be kept on leash. Well our neighbors dogs were cute , we have pets but normally don't take them camping with us.
In saying this the dogs were running around, they even ran into our camper when I opened the door to go in. They ran in jumped on our sofa to lay down.
If everyone else that have pets have to keep their dogs on leash or inside a fence area in campground. This should also be fine by all campers.
We love animals but rules are rulesHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Mar 14, 2020Previous reviewFirst off let me say this... the people here are very nice and helpful. We went for a dry run with our new camper.
There's trails to walk , pond to fish, fire pits full hook ups.
Bathrooms and showers are immaculately clean. There's a pool and rec area It's out in no where on nestled on the side of a small mountain. Lake tilery is across the street with boat docks. Although we didn't get to use any of those . We enjoyed relaxing . Cooking out on the fire pit. Walking around.
I gave it 5 stars because it's a quiet friendly environment, especially for families. As well as all staff are da bomb.. good folks. Willing to assist you in setting up. They even check on you to make sure all is ok - Cat L.Apex, NC14319Jun 12, 2017First to Review
These people are "da bomb!" Seriously, they are solid, good people. They constantly went out of their way to ensure we had a great time! It was so much fun and such a beautiful place. Very rustic, but with ALL the amenities. The staples include a swimming pool, rec room with air hockey and pool table, playground, fishing pond and gem sluice (buy your own bag in the camp store). We rented the kayaks and had a blast on the lake, which is short walk down to the shoreline (they drove the kayaks down for us, and picked them up). I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Nice family run campground on Lake Tillery. Quiet, shady campsites with an older but immaculately clean swimming pool. A tiny fishing pond was popular when we were there. Docks are just across the road. Only recommendation would be a little TLC on the grounds as they used of lot of gravel at the expense of the grass. There were a few dilapidated, seasonal RVs which need to go.
